My Amazing Experience:
It was in March 2010, my parents introduced me to my Library class. I was reluctant to join an extra class activity and that too - Reading! It was boring for me to read books. However, I had no alternate but to visit the Library on a routine saturday.
I came across many story books - short stories and fairy tales. It was easy to read and I got the confidence that I lacked. Apart from stories, I even read magazines and comic books. Slowly and gradually, my interest developed and I formed the habit of reading. My handwriting was no good and when I started writing book reviews of the stories I realized how to write better. Soon, I started writing cursive. Also, I have made many friends and we all love to do many Projects in the classroom. The recent Project was on Cartoons and we had a great time with the power point presentation. We enjoyed doing the scrap book and watching the Popeye movie.
I am inspired by the amazing strength of my teacher who spares her saturdays since years for children like me. She encourages and motivates for reading and other activities that we are not taught at school. She cultivates our reading habits and today, inspite of being in Gujarati medium, I can read, speak and write better English.
This experience of mine, will take me a long way in my life and now, I love to read. I have already completed reading Ladybird classics - Oliver Twist, Sinbad the sailor and The Prince and the Pauper. My reviews follow soon.
