I became a Leader - I managed my Library Class

I became a Leader!

It was a shiny, bright day that Saturday on 19th February. My eyes blinked at the tic-toc of the watch and eagerly waited for the clock to strike 3.00 so that I can rush for the Library class. Since a year, I am so attached to my Library and love to be there amidst all odds. I was busy watching the inspirational videos on You Tube. All of a sudden, my mom called me downstairs. She informed me that my Library Mem rang up to say that she was stuck up in the city traffic and could not reach the Library on time. She had requested me to attend and manage the class. I was very excited and started planning how I can manage the class. For the first time, I was going to manage a class on my own and my joy was tremendous. Earlier, when I attended another class, whenever teacher told to manage the class, my sister was there to do so. Hence, this had been the first chance to prove my leadership abilities.

I was in great mood and as fast as I can, I reached my Library. None of the students had yet come and so, I got the opportunity to re-arrange the chairs and books on the shelf. I wrote new quotes on the board and waited for all to come. Soon, all children came one by one. I informed them of Mem's absence and told them that I will be assigning them their class work. First, they shouted with glee and chatted their way happily for some time. Even I had fun but soon, I had my responsibility and so, I made them write the quotes, meanings and idioms - as a routine that we write. It is difficult to manage naughty children and I can't shout to them as they would yell at me. But, I knew I could manage them and took a deep breadth. I gave them time limit to finish the quotes, meanings and idioms. Once, this was over, students started Loud Reading one by one. I helped them where they cannot pronounce well or failed to read properly.

It was an interesting Loud reading sessions and later, we shared our experiences that we came across in school. The class was very interactive and we all were engrossed in our activities. I am grateful that my mem put the trust and faith in me and this experience made me more confident. That day, I learnt five precious things that are useful in our life:

1. Patience : I learnt patience and knew that it brings in positive results
2. Managing on own without relying on other's shoulders. Normally, we are dependent on our parents at home and in school, we rely on our teachers. But, to manage on own requires great efforts and I learnt this well.
3. Resposibility. First work and than fun. I realized how to be more responsible.
4. Hard work pays result. All of us, sincerely worked hard even in absense of my teacher and I think this will help us in longer run.
5. Planning out - delegate a team and aim for perfection. If I had not planned, everything would be chaos.

This day has been a memorable day in my life. I am inspired and I hope, you will learn my five precious points above.
